If the dark shade had been more cool-toned (it looks like it is in the tube, but goes on orange) and the light side a little less yellow, it would’ve been perfect. It’s creamy, convenient, inexpensive, and easy to get.

If your skin tone is fair-medium or darker, you might be able to avoid those issues. I touch my face a lot, so you might get more wear time than me.
I’d say you can get a good five to six hours out of it. It just disappeared after a little while, and I wasn’t upset about it. But that could be from trying so hard to blend it in and not using enough in the first place. I actually think it’s the light shade–not the dark one–that’s more of a problem, but the darker shade gets warmer as you blend it, too. The overall vibe I get from my face is “pale, glowing orange” but it’s not as over the top as I first thought. It’s a little orange on me (I’m very fair, and my undertones lean a little cool even though I’d consider them primarily neutral).The colors looked promising overall, but I gave the light shade the side-eye because it seemed a little too golden for the job.
I love that the NYX Contour Stick is dual-ended. I’m a sucker for convenience, so the NYX Contour Stick stood out. In most cases, they didn’t come in pairs I just mixed and matched new items with things I already had. Over the past year or so, I’ve tried several products designed to help sculpt your face and play up your bone structure. I still don’t know how it’s possible to offer that quality at that price point. Plus, I’ve been a fan of NYX Cosmetics since I discovered them several years ago. I never contour with a dark shade without using a light, usually pearlescent one, too. NYX Contour Stick (or Wonder Stick) looked perfect. It’s one of the fastest and cheapest ways to cream contour.I never used to contour my face outside of (very) special occasions, but I’ve been experimenting more and more lately. I like that it’s a double-sided stick, making it super portable and simple to use. Value: If you want to experiment with cream contouring, for $11.99 you can. I like the size of the bullets as they are perfect for swiping underneath cheekbones and on the sides of the nose. This also contains synthetic and paraffin wax so it doesn’t contain amazing goodness. It’s known to cause breakouts for many and being the first on the list-eek. I don’t love that the first ingredient is mineral oil. I didn’t expect to blend out very well, but it actually does. It’s the poor poor man’s version of Benefit’s Watt’s Up.įormula: While it’s not very creamy, it doesn’t drag on the skin either. You can’t use the highlight on this for the under eye triangle highlight. If I hadn’t been dicking around at Target making impulse purchases like an idiot, I probably would have gotten Light as the contour is more taupe and the highlight is not shimmery. So obvi I want you to watch the video but here’s my report card for the NYX Wonder Stick in ‘Universal’:Ĭolor: The Universal shade I got is a pinkish-tone, pale contour with a pale white/gold shimmer highlight. I threw it into my red cart and dashed away! Boost! So as all my stories start, one night at Target, I was grabbing groceries and partaking in my favorite past time, “Target Meandering.” Like a mirage in the distance, I saw one last Wonder Stick on the NYX shelf. I also knew I had to try them and review them for you! When I saw these cream contour sticks from NYX, I knew they’d be mega-popular. No literally, this contour party is not stopping any time soon. Ain’t no party like a contour party cuz a contour party don’t stop.
